More Comic Book Covers I Just HATE!!

I’ve talked a lot about comic book covers, especially for DC. But with all the articles on covers I have done, there is only one that focused on horrible covers. And that list was limited to 10. Ten??? There are so many more horrible covers out there. So it’s time to go through a few more today.

 

 

 

Unlike the last list, rather than just do covers I personally did not like I am looking at some more universally hated covers.





Wonder Woman #88

This one seems to always pop when I search for bad comic book covers, and I kinda get it. It really isn’t the best rendition of either hero.






Extreme Justice/Justice League Task Force #1

You could really put any issue of these here, there were both terrible books which were made even worst by the horrid 90’s artwork on display.








Superman Special #1

I’m sorry but as I said before I hated Gil Kane’s art. In fact if you check out that other blog of bad covers more of his work appears there. I mean, what is this?? Okay I can tell what's happening but why does Superman look so horrid?







Flash #343

I am not one to delve into, shall we say, immature humor. It just isn’t my style. But even I can see what is wrong with this cover and the odd placement of that hand. What really gets me is that no one, the artist or editors, caught that mistake.








Batman and Robin #6

What is this? I mean….WHAT IS THIS? Not so much badly drawn but just plain stupid.













This is a cliche, and a really stupid one. It’s a simple effect, showing our heroes as skeletons. I guess the idea is to imply that the heroes are about to lose, badly. The problem is that we know there is no way what we see on the cover will ever happen. So it’s effect is a lot less effective.










Fury of Firestorm Annual #3

This is a very lovely cover, nicely drawn. Would you like to know what the heck happens in the issue? I know I sure would. A misleading cover is one thing, but covers that tell you NOTHING are just aggravating.









Detective Comics #630

Here we have Batman…doing something , I think. There was a long period of just ugly covers from Detective Comics. I don’t know what the problem was. Here are some more:














Detective Comics #27 (New 52)



There is a Catwoman cover out there which is infamous for how awful the shot of Catwoman is. But I wanted to discuss this instead. Frank Miller is just BAD and this artwork, originally intended for another book, is a perfect example of how bad he is.


oh, ok..here it is the infamous cover that pulled off a breast shot and an rear shot at the same time!














Booster Gold #18

I really can’t explain my problem with this one. It’s just a little to simple.











Blue Beetle #24

Blue Beetle’s book was cancelled very abruptly, and maybe that’s the reason for this ugly cover. The shot is ok, even if it says nothing about the issue, but man the way Beetle is drawn is horrid.













Zero Hour #0

It doesn’t get any more boring or lazy than this one my friends.














Finally, I very rarely discuss Marvel but I came across a cover so infamously bad I felt I had to share it. Which? This one….






oh Rob Liefeld, how did you ever have a career? Yeah that’s supposed to Captain America and do I really need to explain why this cover is so bad?
