Top 6 Star Trek Doctors

I talked about officers it’s only feel to turn to the next most important position. The chief medical officer! The doctor is integral since members of Starfleet are constantly getting hurt or sick. So who was the best?

Again not including Discovery (I don’t even know who the doctor was on that show! And honorable mention for Dr Piper and Dr Boyce from the two pilots. They set the standard (and thank goodness were replaced).

Six this time for reasons I think are obvious. And as always just opinion.

#6.Pulaski

She was a great doctor but a horrible person. It amazes me when I see defenders of her. She was arrogant, bossy , and a huge technophobe. Yeah she had her pleasant moments, when she wasn’t arguing about every little thing.

#5,Phlox

God this guy was annoying. Granted he was a good doctor even if he was a bit unconventional. And he did some weird things from keeping animals in sick bay to lacking a basic understanding of how evolution works.

#4.Crusher

Beverly was an interesting character. When she was the focus she was awesome, but when she wasn’t she just kind of faded into the background. It seemed unless it involved romance or Wesley she never contributed much. They tried to fix thud in the later seasons a bit by making her a command officer.

#3.Bashir

It’s amazing how this guy went from one of the most annoying characters in Trek to one of the best on DS9. Hr was also a good friend, a far cry from the horny jerk he was in the start.

#2.McCoy

The classic and still one of the best. He was not only an outstanding medic but a great friend. True he could be a little to emotional at times, but that’s why he made a good match up with the never emotional Spock. Sure he could be grumpy but that was part of his charm. So why not #1?

#1.The Doctor

What can I say? Much like Bashir he had a rough start being kind of boring. Much like Pulaski he had trouble interacting with others. Much like McCoy he was a brilliant medic. Much like Crusher he had other skills including the ability to take command. And much like Phlox he had varied interests like opera. He was the perfect combination of all the others and became so popular that even if you never watched that show you’ve probably heard of the holographic doctor. His character grew and got better, it’s no surprise he was dusted off for Starfleet Academy (which I’ve seen and it’s…eh).

Well I did doctors and first officers, only right to go engineers next. Now this one will be difficult!
