Penguin’s Clean Sweep
Plot: Penguin taints money with a sleeping sickness so he can claim it himself
Guest Stars:Burgess Meredith as Penguin
Trivia:Final Penguin episode although he did appear in a silent cameo in the Monkee’s “Blow Their Minds”. I watched the clip on You Tube and it really reminded my why I haatted that show.
Niitpick:Since when is The Mint in Gotham City?
Bat Silliness:The doctor in this episode doesn’t a have line, even Penguin comments on how quiet he is. Was this a joke or did no one want to pay him?
Bat Gadget:Portable bat lab reappears, All Purpose Bat Fly Swatter and Batman has a weather forecaster in the batcave.
Bat Trap:None
Final Thoughts:Nice to see Penguin after that last episode. He strikes at the Mint where Batman corralled him and finds out that there was nothing illegal happening. How many times has that happened now? Batman finds out that Penguin has planted a sleeping bacteria into the money. Batman and Robin catch up to Penguin but are stopped by Lygerian Fruit Flies. Batgirl fails to stop the infected money from being dispensed. So Batman has TV and Radio to broadcast a warning. Because everyone listens to TV and radio at the same tine I guess. So everyone throws there money out...into the street! No really everyone takes the cash and just throws into the street. and guess where this is going? Yeah of course Penguin (having been inoculated) goes around and collect all the cash with giant vacuum devices. Batgirl tries to stop him but fails like a clod. To bad Bruce Wayne warned everyone so Penguin can’t do a thing with the cash.So Penguin turns to the fruit flies as a weapon, yep that was a plot point, and so Batman sets a trap to capture Penguin and yeah it works. To bad that the flies weren’t able to survive in Gotham;s weather.
Grade:D+, I didn’t like Penguin’s first story and I didn’t care for his last either. He’s usually more clever than this.
