The Ring of Wax/Give ‘Em The Axe
Plot:Riddler is back and after the lost treasure of the Incas
Guest Stars:Frank Gorshin as The Riddler
Trivia:The entrance to the batcave is really a cave in Bronson Canyon out in California. This place has been seen is so many TV show and movies I literally do not have time to list them all.
Niitpick:If it’s just one button to activate the red Bat Phone how does one control whether its routed to Gordon, the Batcave, Wayne Manor, or the Batmobile? Riddler steals the Batmobike, how original since Penguin did one episode ago!
Bat Silliness:The token girl is arrested for once, I guess the Wayne Foundation for Wayward Women was full?
Bat Gadget:The Bat Laser has become a popular gadget, even the villains want it later on.
Bat Trap:For most the death traps are just a necessary measure, but Riddler means it and even wants to make sure it works rather than running off. The trap is Batman and Robin being lowered into hot burning wax.
Final Thoughts:What the heck does Riddler have to do with hot wax? They try to build up as extremely dangerous it is but it still seems..stupid. I get it, it’s to burst through the bank vault. But Riddler has a gimmick he doesn’t need another. And even he points out the riddle’s are all that matter to him. I get the feeling they decided to do another Riddler episode and worked him into a different script. The final resolution isn’t even tied into a riddle. The mystery isn’t bad but Gorshin is wasted.
Grade:C+ It’s hard to hate any episode with Gorshin in it but this feels like it should have been a King Tut episode. And yes he is coming soon. But not before another round with the Joker tomorrow, SAME BAT TIME SAME BAT CHANNEL
