Well this is going to be a hard one to talk about. Right in the middle of the season it was decided to re-work the original pilot into a two parter, with a framing device around it. I have commented on "The Cage" before and how boring it is. Making the two hour "Menagerie" almost intolerable. But so far two episodes I remember disliking were a bit better than I remember, so maybe this will be to. But I doubt it. Today let's talk about part one. And I know this synopsis may read strange since it is bouncing between two stories will try to make it clear. 

Star Trek TOS Overview (Court Martial)

 I always has mixed feelings with this one. Kirk being court martialed? Never really made sense. Though to they do make it clear they tried to avoid it. Let's talk about it.

I wonder if creators were realizing at this point that Spock was quickly becoming a favorite because here he goes from not doing much over the past few episodes to being the sole focus.

 I talked about this one before because while the episode is pretty mediocre, it has a guest star that I love. I'll try to explain why I loved Marianna Hill's performance as Dr.Noel as we go. As for the rest of the episode, well....

Star Trek TOS Overview (Miri)

 This is an episode I never liked. I've only seen it a few times and every time I watch it just feels..dark, and uncomfortable somehow.
