Underrated Trek:Move Along Home (DS9)

Welcome back to Underrated Trek, where I take a special look at Star Trek episodes that I love…which may not be the most popular or even liked by most. So every series has that one episode that is goes beyond bad to off the wall ridiculous. TOS has Spock's Brain, TNG had Sub Rose, and of course Voyager had Threshold. What was DS9"s?

Ah yes, the episode where pretty much everyone associated with it has said it crap. Does it deserve that reputation, however?

Ten (well,12) Favorite Star Trek Voyager Episodes

I did my favorite episodes of TNG and DS9, but never voyager! The closest I came was a crossover which covered all Trek. So since we’re celebrating the 30th anniversary I guess the time has come!

So here’s the deal. I am doing one episode per season, and then since I need 10 I add three others (plus two I couldn't resist). And before I’m asked about a worst episode's list, that’s pretty obvious to be honest. Threshold? These are favorites not necessarily great, and of course just my opinion

Five Times Captain Janeway Was Just Wrong

 I love Star Trek Voyager! I can't help it, I loved it when it was on the air and I love rewatching the episodes over and over. Now, I am not stupid. I know the criticism of the show and most of them are valid. The writing fails in many episodes. The science is all over the place. The show literally abandoned its premise right out of the gate, specifically the whole "Maquis" thing.  Even the "lost in space" thing isn't handled well since the ship has a magic reset button and is always in good shape no matter what happened the week before. And hard as it tries it just isn't as smart as its predecessors DS9 or TNG. Though it isn't Enterprise, so there's that! However, it isn't a bad show either, when it's good it's really damn good. I love the characters especially 7 and when it is good, it’s pretty damn good!  So, I could either condemn it for not living up to its potential or enjoy the product we got. I choose the latter.

So with this year being the 30th anniversary of the show, I am going to try to take a look a the show for good, and for bad. I say try because the way I have been releasing these lately hasn't been so consistent so this may be the only article I do (like what I did for TNG's anniversary). So let's talk about....

Top 10 Worst Post-Crisis Retcons

Only fair to celebrate Crisis on Infinite Earths with the 40th anniversary approaching. The massive story made many changes to the DC universe. Some were subtle, for example Green Lantern books continued on with a new status quo (and a few tweaks to Hal Jordan’s origin) but basically no dramatic changes to canon. Others were convoluted, like the various attempts to reintroduce Huntress into continuity since she could no longer be the daughter of Earth 2 Batman.

These reboots caused entire swaths of history to be changed. Invalidating some really good stories. Here are ten retcons that came about after Crisis that hurt more than they helped. This list is arranged from the ones that were almost well done and seamless to the ones…that weren’t.
